Reflector Bulbs have a reflective casing around the CFL element that focuses and directs the beam. This means they can be used in situations where you would normally have an old-style incandescent spot light.
Over the years developments in the design and manufacture of Energy Saving Bulbs has resulted in them having the same brightness and same colour light as ordinary bulbs and now only take up to twenty seconds to reach full brightness.
These energy saving spotlight bulbs from GE, known as R63's, use just 9w of electricity but generate the same light as an equivalent 40w incandescent spot bulb.
